Press Forward Colorado: How Colorado Newsrooms are Reaching and Serving Diverse Communities

Join us as CMP presents the third event in our Press Forward Colorado 2024 Learning Series:

In Colorado, a vibrant ecosystem of local news outlets serve our state's communities of color, immigrants, non-English speakers and other diverse groups. Community newspapers, monthly magazines, podcasts, and radio all provide vital information for and about their communities in multiple languages.

These newsrooms tend to have exceptionally strong relationships with the national, ethnic, and language-based communities that they serve — as well as a history of receiving fewer resources and less recognition, in spite of their quality coverage and the trusted roles they play in their communities.

During this webinar, you'll meet some of these news leaders,:

  • Clark Adomaitis, KSUT (Ignacio) and KSJD (Cortez) community radio

  • Tra’Mese Byrd, Ethnic Media Exchange

  • Vera Idam, Afrik Digest

  • Hector Paniagua Morales, Enterate Latino

  • Dave Perry, Sentinel Colorado

  • Brittany Winkfield, Denver Urban Spectrum

Collaboration and innovation among diverse media outlets is driving some of the most exciting new projects in Colorado's local news ecosystem. We hope that you can join us!

NOTE: The format for this event will be 60 minutes of discussion with local news leaders, followed by 60 minutes of peer-to-peer discussion with funders only. If you are a Colorado-based funder who wishes to join us in person in Denver, please contact Melissa Milios Davis.

This webinar is presented by the Colorado Media Project Executive Committee and our Press Forward Colorado Funder Table.
