Sen. Michael Bennet will give a brief update on his recently co-sponsored Future of Local News Commission Act and other media-related issues pending federal action such as platform accountability and combatting misinformation.

Local news leaders who represent many outlets, business models and platforms, are invited to help inform this federal conversation and ground it in local community information needs. Specifically, Sen. Bennet wants to hear perspectives from local journalists across Colorado:

• What are you experiencing in you newsroom that a bipartisan Future of Local News Commission or other federal legislation (eg: a new COVID relief package) might be able to address?

• What specific issues, possible solutions, and caveats should federal legislators consider?

• Anything else that we should be thinking about, from a policy perspective?
