Local news and information is changing. Charles Blow traveled across America to find out what comes next. On April 30, Colorado Media Project and Press Forward Colorado are bringing that conversation to Denver for a live screening of the Reimagining Local News docuseries and a fireside chat with Charles Blow.
A new movement is emerging that treats local news and information the way we treat roads, schools and public libraries. As essential infrastructure that every community deserves access to. This is not another story about the death of local news. It is a story about rebirth, innovation and possibility. Come be part of the conversation.
Tickets VIP Reception + Screening: $75. Proceeds benefit Colorado Media Project. General Admission: Free.

VIP Reception
Before the lights go down, join us for an intimate gathering of friends and colleagues. It is a chance to share a glass of wine, enjoy a few bites and say hello to Charles before the program begins.
VIP reception tickets are $75. Proceeds support our mission to strengthen local news and information ecosystems across Colorado. Space is limited to keep the evening intimate.
What We’ll Screen
We will show targeted segments from four episodes of the docuseries:
- Episode 1: Reimagining Local News – Charles travels across the country to meet the people rebuilding local news and information from the ground up. This is where the journey begins.
- Episode 3: Public Policy – How advocates and state leaders are building funding and policy solutions to strengthen local news and information. Communities cannot wait for the market to fix this. Some are not waiting.
- Episode 4: Underrepresented Groups – How outlets like Conecta Arizona and Capital B are restoring trust through culturally relevant reporting in underserved communities. Local news and information works when it reflects the people it serves.
- Episode 5: A Community Takes the Lead – How Colorado became a national model for collaboration among funders and civic leaders to rebuild local news ecosystems. This one is about us.
Fireside Chat with Charles Blow
Following the screening, Charles joins us live for a conversation about what these models mean for Colorado and what role each of us can play in building a stronger local news and information ecosystem right here in our state. Attendees will leave with real, actionable ways to strengthen local news and information in their communities.
