DEADLINE: Latinx bilingual reporter-producer at KGNU

From our friends at KGNU Community Radio and the Community Foundation Boulder County:

KGNU seeks a Full Time Bilingual Spanish-English Latinx News Reporter/Producer. The Investigative/Field Reporter-Producer will work in a fast paced environment and is responsible for working with the news team to produce high-impact special podcast, daily audio and digital news stories including edited audio, live reports, and bilingual written productions.

This position is made possible by a grant from Community Foundation Boulder County’s new Equity Reporting Initiative, which supports deeply reported local stories that cross diverse sectors of the community, reflecting the lived reality of community members who are often not covered in local media. The Community Foundation’s TRENDS Report helps identify Boulder County’s most pressing social, economic and environmental needs, through an equity lens. KGNU intends to extend this work and call the community to action through additional reporting that digs deeper and brings to the forefront voices and experiences of community members across Boulder County.

A new TRENDS podcast will use investigative, explanatory, narrative and solutions-oriented reporting techniques to raise awareness of our community’s most pressing issues, as identified by TRENDS.

The position operates digital audio equipment both in the field and in studio, associated computer hardware and software to support the news production. 50% of the position’s time will focus on producing the TRENDS podcast, and 50% of the position’s time towards daily/weekly news production, through an equity lens. The position reports to the KGNU News Director with input from Community Foundation Boulder County’s Trends Editor.

Deadline to apply is May 27 at 11:59 PM. See the job description for full details and instructions.
