Planning the Denver Migrahack

Nearly one out of ten Coloradans is an immigrant, according to the American Immigration Council. Nearly half hail from Mexico. What stories are local media missing that matter to these communities? How can we gather and wrangle data that helps reporters tell these stories and better inform the public about important issues?

Denver journalists, developers, and others engaged in immigration issues are invited to the University of Denver's campus on April 15 and 16 to provide their insights into the planning process for Denver Migrahack, which will take place in early November 2019.

A Migrahack is a "hackathon" designed to bring together people with expertise on immigration and people who are knowledgable about how communication systems and data science might be leveraged to address the information needs of those most affected by and making decisions related to immigration in the Denver area.
